Plagiarism Policy
The “Journal of Punjabi Insights (JPI)” is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited, and all submissions are subjected to thorough plagiarism checks before publication.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, ideas, images, or data from another source without proper citation
- Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without acknowledgement
- Claiming authorship of work that is not one’s own
- Using content from previously published work without proper attribution (including self-plagiarism)
Plagiarism Check Process
- All submitted manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or Similarity Check).
- If the similarity index exceeds 10–15% (excluding references, quotations, and bibliography), the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision or may be rejected outright depending on the severity.
Types of Plagiarism Handled
- Minor Plagiarism (unintentional or limited copying): Authors will be asked to revise and resubmit with proper citations.
- Major Plagiarism (copying substantial parts or entire work): The manuscript will be rejected immediately, and authors may be blacklisted from future submissions.
Responsibility of Authors
Authors must ensure that:
- Their work is entirely original.
- All sources are clearly cited and referenced.
- Permissions are obtained where necessary (e.g., for copyrighted content or images).
- Previously published content is not submitted again unless clearly indicated and permitted (with proper citation).
